OFFENSE
The Tigers enter the 2022 season as a young team but with enough players having played last season, they are set up to have a solid season. Second-year head coach, Len Halliburton, says that this year’s squad should have a good season. “We look to be much improved this season,” he said. “It will be our second year in our offensive and defensive schemes and we feel that we got better every game we played last season We are a young team but we return a large number of starters on both sides of the ball.” TK Watson (5-8, 150, Jr.) will be leading the Tigers at quarterback. Joining him in the backfield will be running back Jairo Ponce (6-0, 220, Sr.), who will be the lead running back for the team. Serving as targets on the outside will be Randall Coble (5-9, 160, Sr.) and Grady LeGrange (5-8, 140, Jr.). They have both put in the work in the offseason and are ready to increase their production this season. Taking care of things up front will be Ian Landes (6-2, 280, Sr.) and Conner Stelzer (6-2, 270, So.).
DEFENSE
The Tigers’ defense will work hard this season to pack the box and make teams one-dimensional. Upfront on the defensive line, Angel Quirea-Juarez (5-9, 245, So.) and Ponce will anchor things on the line and work hard to cause confusion for their opponents. Gage Martinez (5-9, 190, Sr.) and Jacob DeLaTorre (5-9, 195, Jr.) will be playing at linebacker. They enter this season looking to make a difference on the team. Isais Sanchez (6-1, 175, Sr.) will play both linebacker and safety, depending on where his team needs him. When he is taking care of things in the secondary, he will be playing alongside Damian Ozaeta (5-8, 140, So.) Assistant coaches will be James Henton, Kyle Davis, Dominique Thomas, Lasimba Young, and Brit Litsch.
