The four years that a student spends in high school have a lot of focus on the future. Whether it is trying to figure out if you want to attend college, go straight into the workforce, military, or something else, this is the time when those decisions are usually made. Kole Campbell is a homeschool student in his senior year. He is also a student at Northwest Tech, where he is getting a head start on his life after high school.
“I think tech has helped me a lot for my future,” he said. “It teaches responsibility, it gives us a skill to use down the road and it has given me people I can call on to help me when I am in college or whatever life throws my way. I am in the electrical program at tech. I picked that program because it was a skill I could use in life and I have already started using it.”
Campbell is also proud to recommend tech to others that are interested.
“If someone asked me if they should come to tech I would tell them to go for it,” he stated. “It is full of good people and good teachers who are there to help you along your path.”
Throughout his life, there have been a number of people that have been influential to Kole’s life and have helped him get to where he is today.
“Some of my biggest influences would have to be my coach and future coach Kyle Campbell and Jennifer Bedwell,” he said. “My dad Kyle was an Ag teacher and he taught me how to judge and how to see good stock. Jennifer has been a second coach to me for the past two years helping me in the reasons room and helping me see stock on a higher level.”
As for my plans after high school, I have signed to be on the Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa livestock judging team where I will judge under Jennifer Bedwell. I will attend there for two years and then I will go to a senior college to finish out my judging eligibility.
