NW OK Osteopathic Foundation Scholarship Recipients

Taylor Cardwell is a senior at Balko High School where she was a multi-sport athlete, class president and served as co-editor of the school newspaper. She will be attending Seward County Community College in the fall, pursuing a career in nursing. She’s looking forward to giving back to her community through her profession.

Kannin Koehn is a senior from Cherokee who participated in various sports, competed on the academic team and whose volunteer service included helping to build and outdoor classroom for Cherokee Public Schools.  He has lived in northwest Oklahoma his entire life and enjoys fishing and the outdoors. Kannin has wanted to be a physician for as long as he can remember and will be attending NWOSU as a pre-med major. 

Kedrick Klassen is a senior at Woodward High school where he served in leadership roles, was active in band, and competed on the academic team. Kedrick will be attending OSU in the fall as a pre-med student.  He said his father’s career as a physician has shown him the dedication and hard work needed to attain this goal. 

Brandon De La Torre is a senior at Pioneer Pleasant Vale where athletics played a major role in his high school career.  Part of a district championship team, Brandon suffered an injury that required surgery and extensive rehab.  The experience helped fuel a desire to become a physician.  Brandon will be attending OU in the fall. 

Marisa Saucedo is a senior at Enid High School where she is a National Honor Student and community volunteer.  She has a strong work ethic and credits her part time job with providing her with leadership skills.   Marisa will be attending OSU, and pursuing a career as a physician because she wants to help people get healthy and back to doing what they love. 

Taylor Winn is a senior at Mooreland High School where she participated in athletics, served in various leadership roles, and enjoyed many extra-curricular clubs and activities.  In addition to all of this Taylor still found time for community service and a part-time job.  She will be attending NWOSU in the fall and would like to become a physician specializing in dermatology.

Kathryn Brashears is a senior at Beaver High school where she participated in athletics, numerous leadership activities and community service. She will be attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University in the fall majoring in Biology. Kathryn understands the struggle of finding a physician in rural Oklahoma.  She plans to become a physician and do her part to help. 

Baylor Wren is a senior at Alva High School where he earned numerous athletic and academic awards. He will be attending OSU in the fall. A season-ending knee injury gave him a glimpse into the world of medicine and inspired him to pursue a career as an orthopedic surgeon.  He says his foundation of family and the community have been invaluable.
