Sharon-Mutual Cheer – Team Spotlight

Sharon-Mutual head cheer coach Jill Syms may have a small and young squad, but what they lack in size and experience, they more than make up for in spirit.

The 2021-22 cheer season is here and the cheerleaders at Sharon-Mutual High School are prepared for a great year. Coach Syms believes their hard work will pay off during the season. “We are a very young team. They are very hard workers and want to excel at cheer,” said coach Syms. “Their goal is to raise school spirit and to get more crowd participation. They are excited about this upcoming year and can’t wait to showcase all their new cheers, stunts, and dances.”

Leading the way is Lexie Robinson, a junior and this year’s captain. Robinson excels in the classroom and on the sidelines for Sharon-Mutual. “Lexie is a junior at Sharon-Mutual and this is her second year of cheering. She is my cheer captain. Lexie is ranked at the top of her class. Academic achievement is extremely important to her. She is responsible, a great leader and represents our school well,” said coach Syms.

Another junior to watch is Kallie Harris. Harris has continued to work hard to improve her skills and is always someone willing to lead the crowd in a cheer.

Other members of the team include sophomore Heidi Keene, freshmen Hana Chapman and Triniti Mabra along with Raelyn Syms, Laney Marlatt, Cahly Spencer, Zoey Coberly, Yandi Casio, Arley Keene and Gracie Mabra who serves as the team mascot.
