Turpin’s Chloe Hendrich – Presented By Northwest Oklahoma Osteopathic Foundation

In the fall of 2018, I got in my car and drove to Turpin, Oklahoma to interview Chloe Hendrich, a senior at Turpin High School. She was the VYPE Magazine FCA Athlete of the Month.

What I found was an engaging young woman that was a great leader in high school and someone that fellow students followed because of her strong faith, who she is and what she did. Chloe was valedictorian at Turpin High School, part of a state championship Cheer squad and received ones at the State Music contest. She was named Turpin Student of Today in 2019.

Chloe told me she wanted to be a pediatric oncologist.

It was a fun interview for me and I decided to keep track of her.

Fast forward four and a half years to the present. Chloe has graduated from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin Missouri and is in her first year of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kansas City University, Joplin, Missouri campus. Chloe was part of the prestigious Glen Dolance Leadership Board at Missouri Southern State University where she graduated Suma Cum Laude. She also received the Elmer Tyree, Vernon Lawson Leadership and Service Award as part of Koinonia. Chloe was also involved with the Women in Science program in college.

At medical school, Chloe is part of the MKEAP program (Missouri Southern State, Kansas City University, Early Acceptance Program). She admits to studying five hours per day and up to ten hours a day during exam weeks. She will have classes and study the first two years then take her boards. Once passed, she will begin her hospital work. She still wants to be a pediatric oncologist.

Chloe goes to Rogers, Arkansas for some down time and finds some fun in Joplin. But, her main activity is staying in touch with her boyfriend, Trenton, who goes to school in Washington, D.C. getting a masters’ degree in sound production and audio engineering. The two met during college and got engaged in February.

I found Chloe to still be that engaging young woman I interviewed back in 2018. Only, more mature, smarter and further down the road achieving her goals. We’ll keep track of Chloe and celebrate her wedding and graduation from medical school and see what is next for the girl from Turpin, America.
