Head Coach: Kris Webb
The Vici Indians’ fall baseball team is no stranger to the postseason in the recent past. They made two trips to the state tournament in 2020 and 2019, and they advanced to the regional tournament in 2021, 2018, and 2017. As they enter the new season, head coach Kris Webb says that he likes the makeup of his squad and has big expectations for the season.
“Our program has been pretty good lately,” he said. “We are hoping to continue that success this season. I’ve got a good group of seniors and I am really excited for our sophomores coming up. We only have one junior on the team, so we are between seniors and sophomores which is interesting. It will be a dynamic where we have some veteran players and some new players that will have some lumps. But I am expecting us to be a lot better at the end of the fall and as we head to the spring.”
Two seniors that Webb expects to play big roles in the season are Noah Halderman and Kaleb Moss.
“Both Noah and Kaleb have seen a lot of playing time the past couple of years,” the coach stated. “I am looking for them to have really good senior season and be impact players for us.”
While Webb and his team are excited for the season, they know they are heading into it with one less man. Cade Trotter suffered an injury during the spring baseball season. He is expected to miss most of if not all of the fall season. The team looks forward to getting him back for the spring season. They know there is the possibility of an earlier return during the end of the fall season, but only time will tell.
Another player to keep an eye on for the Indians is Cale Nelson. He is an outstanding all around athlete and has a high baseball IQ. No doubt he will have a say on how the season goes.
