OFFENSE

In his first season as head coach at Watonga High School, Skylar Watson is excited to be able to represent the Eagles and be able to bring back an exciting brand of football to Watonga in the upcoming season. With over half of their starters returning on both sides of the ball, the Eagles have the confidence to compete in 2021. Joe Jackson (5-10, 205, Sr.) will return, and is a player to watch and is expected to have a breakout season. Elijah Lauminick (6-2, 240, Sr.) and Ernesto Duenas (5-9, 215, Jr.) are expected to shine on the offensive line after starting last season. Sharing touches will be running back Levi Denham (5-10, 200, Sr.) and wide receiver Deondre Dunn (5-11, 165, Sr.). Both players have the potential to lead this offense with their speed and agility. Chris Sanders (6-0, 175, So.) will run multiple positions for the Eagles, but people can expect productivity with whatever task he is given.

DEFENSE

The Eagles defense plans on playing a very aggressive and physical style of football and expect a big jump compared to last season. Jackson will line up at linebacker again, after proving to be a force to be reckoned with last season. Denham will line up next to him at linebacker, and also has proved himself on the field. Cale Lorenz (6-1, 195, Sr.) and Octavin Brown (6-3, 215, Jr.) will return to the defensive line after starting last season. Caymon Wieczorrek (5-7, 160, Jr.) gets praise for his hard work and doing all the little things right and will play various positions for this defense. Dunn can be expected to line up at cornerback, a position he played last season. Multiple formations will be ran with the idea that eliminating timing and space is most important.
