Tianna Miller is a senior at Waukomis High School. She is captain of the cheerleading squad for the Chiefs. She began cheering in the third grade at a summer camp and now enjoys the fun, physical activity and fellowship of cheer. Her closest friend, Bryclyn Alcorn, is on the cheer squad.
Miller’s cheer coach, Traci Terrill, says Tianna is an outstanding student, leader and cheer captain.
“She is outgoing and provides strong leadership among the cheerleaders. She likes to work with the Pre-K kids during cheer clinic.”
Miller is drum major and plays the saxophone in the band and is also in student council. She is senior class president, quiz bowl captain and she sings at her church, Waukomis Christian Church where her grandfather, David Jones, is pastor. Tianna likes being involved at school and being around people that are fun and support her.
Miller’s favorite subjects are science and history–science because she likes to figure things out and history because she likes stories and how things happened and how they influence us today.
Miller wants to go to Northwestern Oklahoma State University and major in elementary education. She helps each day with Miss Burt’s third grade class during fifth hour. She loves kids and seems to be solid with her decision to be a teacher because she feels teachers and coaches have an incredible influence on young lives.
When asked what advice she would give someone interested in cheer. Her reply included a big smile on her face.
“Do it,” she said, “work hard, have fun and build relationships that will last a lifetime.”
Turning to leadership, Miller said you need to respect yourself and others, stay positive, fair, kind and be your best.
Tianna Miller is a delightful young woman that has made the most of her high school days and seems poised to take the next step.
