These are the top seven players in the Woodward area hub, ranked by VYPE editors regardless of position.
#1 Nash Hunter – RB/FB/MLB – Senior – Woodward
Hunter is what you would call the prototypical linebacker/fullback. He is the heart and soul of the team. Excellent athleticism for his size at 5-foot-10, 250-pounds and hits like a freight train.
#2 Conner Scarborough – RB – Senior – Mooreland
As a junior, Scarborough rushed for 1,092 yards and scored four touchdowns. This season coach Howard expects big things from his senior running back. Scarborough is a leader on and off the field.
#3 Jaden Hall – QB/DE – Senior – Balko-Forgan
Hall put up amazing numbers as a junior throwing for 1,018 yards on 68 passes with 13 TD’s while rushing for 1,588 yards and scoring 20 times. Hall will also start at DE for the Bison.
#4 Tabor Marlatt – QB/DB – Senior – Sharon-Mutual
Marlatt is a great player for the Trojans. Last season he rushed for 837 yards and 16 touchdowns. On defense he snagged two interceptions and made a ton of tackles. Smart player, quick thinker.
#5 Caden Laverty – QB – Senior – Shattuck
Laverty is a three-year start for good reason. He’s an exceptional athlete in football and in track. When he carries the ball, Laverty is a threat to take it to the house and he is tough to tackle if you do catch him.
#6 Cody Pester – ATH/DB – Junior – Seiling
Pester is the type of athlete everyone loves to have. He will be used in many different ways on offense and can shut you down on the defensive side of the ball from his corner spot.
#7 Gabe Lovell – NG – Senior – Laverne
The big man for Laverne has tremendous size, strength, and athletic ability at the point of attack. He has played linebacker and fullback but will line up in the trenches this season.
