Fort Supply

Fort Supply’s Cailyn Cassity – NWOK Spotlight – Presented by Farm Credit Western oklahoma

Fort Supply High School senior Cailyn Cassity is living proof there is more to being involved in FFA than just showing animals. The senior started her FFA journey in the eighth grade like most of her peers.

“At Fort Supply you have to take AG class starting in eighth grade. I had always seen the older kids being involved in FFA and it looked like so much fun. My Ag teacher, Mr. Kornele has been a huge influence in my involvement in FFA,” said Cassity. “I do not show any show animals. I enjoy everything about FFA. I love that I have had the opportunity to be a Fort Supply FFA officer for two years, I love getting to help plan things for our chapter. I love going on trips, meeting new people, and being involved.”

Cassity said being involved in FFA has helped her prepare for her future after high school.

“FFA has done so much for my future. I have learned leadership skills, met many new people, and made many memories that I will never forget. Being an FFA member has brought me out of my comfort zone and made me so much more confident in myself,” said Cassity.

The senior is ready for graduation and said she is looking forward to starting the next chapter of her life in college.

“After I graduate, I plan to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant,” said Cassity.

During her high school career, Cassity has been an officer in the FFA chapter at school currently serving as Vice President. She’s also been in the Drama Club and served on the Student Council as an Event Coordinator. The senior said anyone wanting to get involved in FFA should join at the first opportunity.

“My advice for any student looking to join the FFA is that you should definitely join. Joining the FFA and staying actively involved is something that you will not regret. You will meet so many new people and make a ton of great memories,” said Cassity.

In her free time, Cassity said she enjoys spending time with friends and family, and relaxing, especially at the lake on the boat.
