Senior at Hooker High School, Dillon Metcalf, has always been around sports with his two older brothers who have always pushed him to be better.
“I grew up going to my brothers games and I always wanted to be better so growing up I always wanted to prove a point,” said Dillon.
Staying busy is not an issue for this student athlete. Dillon has been a four time starter in football, a two year starter for basketball, as well as a four time state medalist in track. When he is not busy with sports he is an active member of FCA, NHS, and student council.
Being a leader in his sports and in the school causes many people to look up to Dillon, so he is always trying his best to have great personal character and be someone worth looking up to.
“Character means being the guy that is there when a teammate is down or even when someone is not doing the right thing and correcting them,” said Dillon.
Being recognized for what he does as a student athlete means the world to Dillon.
“It is an honor to be recognized because not many people know about how much hard work and dedication goes into sports,” Dillon said.
Striving to be a role model, a great teammate and athlete, as well as a good student can put a little pressure on anyone, but Dillon works hard to keep all things in perspective.
“I realize life goes on whether I like it or not and I deal with the circumstances that are given to me,” Dillon said.
When Dillon is not busy winning state medals in track or starting on the football and basketball teams he enjoys spending time bonding with his teammates, whether that be working out or just hanging out playing video games.
After high school Dillon plans to attend Oklahoma State and compete with the football team.
