VYPE: What goals do you have for this year?
Mason: My goal for this year is to turn our team around and help to create a winning program at Woodward. Our new coaches are leading us in that direction.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Mason: What football has taught me to use in my everyday day life is teamwork and communication.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Mason: My favorite teacher was my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Stone. She always was extremely nice, and she has been my neighbor for nine years now. We still remain close.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Mason: My Dad, Chris Boring, inspires me the most. He is very hard working and has always been an amazing coach and father to me. He was the reason I started playing football in the first place.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Mason: Hunter Harrison left a big impact on me as a person and teammate. We are both faithful to God and we both love football. He was a great player and is a great person.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Mason: The best part about being on a team is definitely the friends that you make. When you go hrough challenges as a team it brings everyone closer together. Those friendships can last a lifetime.
VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
Mason: My Dad is the best athlete in my family. He was a multi-sport athlete in high school. He was best at football. He played at Guymon High School and took part in the Down Under Bowl in Australia in 1999 as a fullback.
VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
Mason: Baseball, I used to play it when I was a little kid. I loved to play it when I was young so I think I’d enjoy it again.
VYPE: What profession would you like to work in?
Mason: I would like to go to Oklahoma State University and enroll in the architecture and/or architectural engineering program.
