As his sophomore year comes to a close, Jazin Baker is looking forward to another year of baseball and FFA at Seiling High School.
Baker first got involved in FFA when he was in the eighth grade thanks to one of his teachers.
“My 7th grade ag teacher Mr. Fisher got me involved. In the FFA I’d say I enjoy welding and building projects in the shop,” said Baker.
Welding and working on projects are not the only activities Baker is involved in with the Seiling FFA chapter.
I participate in livestock judging, shooting sports, and if possible, at times shop events,” said Baker.
When he’s not in FFA, Baker is involved in athletics and works with the Seiling Wildcats broadcast team.
“I am in the Wildcat TV class our school provides and I commentate on sports athletics,” said Baker.
Also a centerfielder and pitcher for the varsity baseball team, Baker said his teammates are more like family.
“Probably the brotherhood, as far as I’m concerned most of the guys on our team would have my back just as much as I would have theirs.
Baker said winning a state championship with the football team is his favorite memory as a student-athlete. After graduation, Baker is considering going to trade school for Advanced Wind Tech.
