Parenting can be a busy and stressful thing at times, but it can also be very rewarding. Mandy Hensley is a mother of three and she says she enjoys being there to support her kids in whatever they decide to do.
“I try not to miss any games,” she said. “With three active athletes that can be hard but the family divides and conquers. We spend a lot of time on the road but I know it won’t last forever and I try to soak up every minute of watching them do what they love. We often talk about and discuss the most important life lessons they can learn from the games that they love. “
Hensly has three sons that either attend or have attended Woodward High School.
“I am super proud of my three boys,” she said. “Max graduated in 2001 and played football, basketball and track. Sam graduated in 2023 and played football, basketball, soccer, and track. And Ben is a sophomore this year and plays football, basketball, and track.”
Having three athletes, Mandy knows the importance of working hard and sticking with something.
“They only have this time in their lives once, if they commit to a team it is important that they are all in and stay committed to their teammates,” she said. “Being a multi-sport athlete isnt easy but the lessons they learn from being a part of these teams is priceless. Hard work, dedication, and teamwork are great attributes that will benefit them in all aspects of their lives.”
When she is not in the stands cheering for her sons, Hensley is a Speech Language Pathologist for Woodward Public Schools. She is also the president of the Boomer Booster Tip-In Club, secretary of the Touchdown Club, and member of the Boomer Track Booster Club.
“I love working to support the athletic programs in Woodward. Not only does it benefit my kiddos but all the student athletes in Woodward.”
