Success is something that is earned and not just given. With the right amount of work and dedication, it can be achieved in just about anything. Bryleigh Douglas-Fisher is a multisport athlete at Woodward High School and she says that while she has worked hard to get where she is, it also helps to have the support of others.
“You have to be willing to put in the hard work, even when you don’t feel like it,” she said. “My biggest motivation has been my family and how they are always there for me. That keeps me working hard.”
Bryleigh is a junior at Woodward High School, where she is a member of the softball, basketball, and soccer teams. She is also a member of the Sub Debs, National Honor Society, Pep Club, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Her teammates in each of her sports bring a lot to the team and Bryleigh says that no one team member is more important than the others.
“We don’t believe in the most and least appreciated player on our team,” she said. “We don’t believe in the most and least important. We believe that every member of our team has an important role to play and that, no matter what that role is, in order for us to be successful, we all have to play our roles to the best of our ability.”
There have been many people that have played a role in Bryleigh’s life. But she has a few that have been influential in her life.
“My mom is my biggest role model,”she said. “She believes that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. Also, my kindergarten teacher, Mrs.Rose, always pushed me to be the best I could be. And my teammate Kaleigh Mills is one of the most hardworking freshmen I’ve met. We both are very hard workers so working against her in practice is making me the best I can be.”
On the field and court, there Bryleigh has made a lot of memories but she has one that stands out as her favorite.
“We were playing Elk City in softball and we were down 1-2 in the championship game,” she said. “I was batting and had an 0-2 count with a runner on second and I hit one out to make it 3-2.”
