OFFENSE

The Wildcats return seven  starters on offense and will  have young players at depth.  Gary Manuel, in his fifth season as head coach, wants to see his team continue to take steps forward and grow together as a team. The Wildcats return many veteran starters, but will have some young players ready and waiting to hear their names called and get on the field. Quarterback Kaden Manuel (5-10, 200, Jr.) will look to lead the Wildcat offense this season in multiple offensive sets. The goal for Seiling is to utilize their skill players and let them make plays with the ball in their hands.  Colton Bowen (5-11, 245, Sr.) and Sam Pittman (6-2, 200, Sr.) will be veterans on the offensive line looking to win the battle at the line of scrimmage. Hudson Hamar (6-2, 165, Jr.) is a receiving threat with good size and hands and Cody Pester (6-2, 165, Sr.) is a pure athlete. Pester can make an impact on the game wherever he lines up on the field, just put the ball in his hands and watch him get to work. Newt Hutchison (5-10, 175, Sr.) will line up at tight end and provide versatility to unique sets and packages.

DEFENSE

The Wildcats want to be really aggressive on defense this year. Expect them to line up in a base 3-2 formation but bring pressure early and often. Returning seven starters on defense and several two-way players, coach Manuel expects Seiling to be a defensive minded team. To do so, Manuel wants his team to play physically and use speed to their advantage. Linebackers Brock Gore (5-9, 165, Jr.) and  two-way player, Manuel, will  be responsible for getting the defense aligned before the snap. Bowen and Hutchison are both impact players on both sides of the ball. On defense they’ll look to be physical off the line, clog running lanes, and pressure the quarterback. In the secondary  Pester will play free safety and Hamar will line up in a variety of coverages. Also look for underclassman Blake Chain to make an appearance.
