Chisholm Longhorns Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by Security National Bank

BOYS
Coach: Cole Hibler
21-22 Record: 6-19

The Chisholm Longhorns enter this new season with new hope and a clean slate. After a tough season last year, head coach Cole Hibler says that his team will have some new players step up and he looks for his team to fare better this season. “We plan to play a little different style this year due to our size,” Hibler said. “We will not be very big. We will have seven seniors in the program this year, but we have several younger kids that will potentially be able to come in and make an impact. I anticipate to have a much improved year from last year’s 6-19 season.” Huston Lane (Sr.) will be a guy that will step up to be a leader on this team. He is a hard worker who will set the tone on the defensive side of the ball. He gets the team going in the right direction, and he can make plays on the offensive side of the ball as well. Another guy that is ready to see an increased role this season is Kellen Epps (Sr.).

Kellen is capable of having explosive games. He was the team’s second leading scorer last year averaging 13.5 points a game. He had multiple games where he eclipsed 25 points. He will be looking to have a big senior year. A younger player that will be looking to see sometime this season will be Langley Aman (So.). He averaged about 25 minutes a game last year as a freshman. He is a well-rounded basketball player that does not have to score to have an impact on the game. He will be looking to have a good sophomore year. A strong kid that does not mind doing the dirty work is Lucas Easter (Sr.). He is one of those kids that would run through a brick wall for someone. He is constantly setting the tone for hard work in practice and in games. Other Longhorns to keep an eye out for this season are Cooper Westphal (Fr.), Camden Daniels (Jr.), Allen Weber (Jr.), Holton Miller (Sr.), Aiden Burd (Jr.), Hayden Harmon (Jr.), Jager Dow (So.), Alex Keefer (Sr.), Gage Smith (Fr.), Garrett Harves (Sr.), and Will Worrell (Sr.). The assistant coach is Shane Soudek.
