Drummond’s Haylee Ryel – FFA Spotlight – Presented By Farm Credit Of Enid

Haylee Ryel of Drummond High School first got involved in FFA when she was in the eighth grade, but prior to that time Ryel was a member of the 4-H Club for five years. As a member of FFA, Ryel said she has enjoyed many things about it and is even showing animals.

“So far, I have enjoyed showing goats and public speaking,” said Ryel. “I’ve been showing goats for two years.”

Now a sophomore in high school, Ryel said she has made the most of every opportunity the FFA has awarded her, and she is looking forward to adding more events and activities.

“I am involved in Ag Mechanics, Creed Speaking, Greenhand and Livestock Judging,” said Ryel.

Going from the 4-H Club to FFA was an easy transition for Ryel thanks to her family who encouraged her to join FFA.

“It was my family who encouraged me to join, especially my uncles,” said Ryel.

As a student-athlete, Ryel keeps busy with other activities including being a member of the varsity softball team and participating in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

“I love getting hype and listening to music with my teammates before games and cheering in the dugout when I’m not up to bat,” said Ryel. “I am a part of the FCA and very active in my youth group.”

Ryel said anyone interested in FFA should ask a member or an Ag teacher about joining.

“Be open to try new things, especially public speaking because it helps you become more comfortable in social settings,” said Ryel.

Away from school and sports Ryel said she enjoys hanging out with friends, watching Netflix, doing activities with her youth group and filming basketball.
