Garber Wolverines Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by Integris Health

BOYS

Coach: Fletcher Reed

21-22 Record: 25-4

In his second season at the helm of Wolverine basketball, Fletcher Reed is eager to see how this group can come together and develop. “I am excited about this upcoming season. These boys are hungry and looking to keep the winning tradition here at Garber going. Offensively, we have the potential to be explosive with balanced scoring. Defensively we have the potential to be effective with our willingness to play solid team defense as well as do the little things such as diving on loose balls and taking charges,” said coach Reed. Leading the way is Mark Bishop (So.), an underclassman who can flat play. “High motor player that gives 110 percent at all times. Offensively he has the ability to score inside and out as well as create scoring opportunities with his court vision. Defensively he uses his quickness and physicality to make the ballhandler uncomfortable and create turnovers,” said coach Reed.

Tyler Butcher (Sr.) brings his leadership to the floor for the Wolverines. “One of the upperclassmen of this group that will have a huge impact not only with his play on both ends, but also with his leadership skills,” said coach Reed. Brett Howry (So.) is another explosive scorer coach Reed is excited to let loose. “One of the top shooters in the state with range from past the three-point line. Also, uses his length well to be a factor both on the defensive end and on the boards,” said coach Reed. Domingo Ramirez (So.) is another talented sophomore Garber will look to this season for quality minutes. Colton Steinert (So.) leads a solid roster that includes Nicolas Najera (Fr.), Colton Polifka (So.), Steven Dexter (So.), Ricardo Quezada (Sr.), Jackson Weibling (So.), Kenon Sharp (Fr.), Gavin Schmidt (Fr.), Nathan Buttrum (So.), Seth Smith (So.), Eric Fears (Sr.), Jace Shipley (Sr.), and Nathaniel Grantz (Sr.). Chancey Hodges will assist coach Reed with Kember Sloat and Deshaun Bennett serving as managers.
