OFFENSE

Following a 9-1 record playing an independent schedulelast season, Oklahoma Bible Academy head coach Chris Cayot says he and his Trojans are excited to be back in Class B 8-man football and are looking forward to again competing in OSSAA district play. One reason Cayot and OBA are excited about returning to OSSAA competition is the number of starters, seven, returning on the offensive side of the ball. VYPE Top 100 quarterback Bodie Boydstun (6-4, 210, Sr.) is back after accounting for 24 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns a year ago. Cayot praised Boydstun for his leadership saying he executes the offense and is a physical presence on defense. Offensively, Boydstun will have several weapons to work with. Running Jud Cheatham (5-8, 160, Jr.) leads the rushing attack after accounting for 1,200 total yards and 19 touchdowns last season. Cayot described Cheatham as physical, quick, and relentless. Tight end Jakob Colby (6-3, 200, Sr.) is a big target in the passing game. He will be looking to improve from his impressive junior season where he totaled 355 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. On the outside, Harry Nunez (6- 0, 180, Sr.) returns after recording almost 500 receiving yards and five touchdowns as a junior.

DEFENSE

Defensively, OBA will use a 3-2 defense to combat opposing offenses. Leading the way for the Trojans is free safety Jud Cheatham. Cheatham had a team leading 85 tackles and five interceptions as a sophomore and will look to improve on those numbers this season. Up front, Jakob Colby will look to get into the backfield and disrupt opposing offenses. He recorded four fumble recoveries from his defensive end position last season. Linebacker Holden Caldwell (5-8, 142, Sr.) is an undersized linebacker according to Cayot, but he plays with heard an enthusiasm. Cayot praised Caldwell for being coachable and using his intelligence on the football field. Assisting Cayot and OBA this year are James Cheatham, Jay Mendenhall, Jason Warnock, Titus Burrell, Easton Maxwell, and Camden Cayot.
