Woodward Teacher Spotlight – Angela Clem – Presented by Keller Williams Realty Elite

Educators are the backbone of society. Great teachers make learning fun and teach young people values and lessons that they will carry with them throughout their lives. Woodward high school’s Angela Clem is no exception to this and as such has been named our latest Teacher of the Month.

Clem teaches freshman and sophomore geometry. This year Clem is entering her fifth year as an educator and has spent her entire teaching career at Woodward High. Clem spoke about how the educator’s role has evolved over the recent years and incorporating new technology to handle the ever changing learning environment.

“The teacher’s role is still to educate students for what they need for the next stage of learning as they advance to each grade level,” Clem said. “In recent years teachers have had to adapt to new ways of meeting students’ needs in more technological ways. With the age of information being at the immediate edge of our fingertips, I feel teachers have adapted learning to a more digital learning environment to help keep students engaged. Examples of this in my classroom include using more digital presentations, incorporating hands-on manipulative tools, and using digital platforms for assessing their knowledge.”

Clem is excited about meeting her new students this fall and watching them gain an understanding of geometry.

“I enjoy teaching geometry and making a fun, interactive learning environment,” Clem said.

For Clem, the learning environment should be a productive and adaptive environment where students can prosper. She works hard to make sure all of her students are supported on an individual basis.

Outside of the classroom, Clem can most often be found outside, enjoying nature and spending time with her family. She’s excited for the opportunity to make another impactful year on students and is ready to form bonds and memories with students that will stay with them long after their time at Woodward High.
