Hi, what are you looking for?

Woodward

Q&A with Woodward’s Brynn Custar Presented by Great Plains Bank Woodward

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year?

Brynn: On an athletic front I hope of achieving a state qualifying run in both track and cross country.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Brynn: My sport has taught me not only resilience but the power of encouragement from your team at your lowest point in the race. A single act of encouragement can be the difference.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Brynn: Mrs. Spicer. She is a teacher that is not afraid to go through the trenches with you. She will break down your work then aid you in rebuilding and refining your writing styles.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Brynn: My little brother, Dathan, inspires me. He is a naturally talented and athletic kid who despite his natural abilities goes above and beyond in effort when it comes to training for his sports. He’s always willing to aide me when I have a running question.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Brynn: Avery Case has left the biggest impression on me. She is a dedicated runner who is not only my teammate but has helped me to grow as a person.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Brynn: My favorite part of being on a team has to be the community, specifically for cross country. I have never met a more caring group of people. There are no divisions between the grade levels we are just one big family.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.

Brynn: Dathan is probably the most athletic person in our family. He not only has the natural ability but the drive to put in the work needed to exceed in the sport.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?

Brynn: I would love to play basketball again. It was a sport I dearly loved but did not have the time to pursue.

VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?

Brynn: “Ride the Lightning” or “Living on a Prayer.”
