Q&A with Woodward’s Riley Moore – Presented by Randy’s Pharmacy

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year in basketball?
Riley: My goals for basketball this year is to score in the double digits each game and lots of rebounds.

VYPE: What has basketball taught you that you use in your daily life?
Riley: Basketball has taught me many things but the most used thing is battling through adversity and approaching everything with a good attitude.

VYPE: What’s your favorite style of shoe to wear in game?
Riley: My favorite style of shoe to wear in games is definitely any Nike shoe. They are the most comfortable and make me feel fast.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Riley: My mom is my inspiration. She is always a hard worker and pushes me to my best abilities.

VYPE: What do you think is the biggest challenge in basketball?
Riley: The biggest challenge in basketball is that you are constantly failing. It’s a sport where you fail 70% of the time but you have to overcome your failure and know it does not define you as a player.

VYPE: What do you think makes a great basketball player?
Riley: A great basketball player has to have a good attitude every time they step onto the court. They also have to be confident, a hard worker, and be coachable.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
Riley: My family is pretty athletic so it’s kind of hard to pick just one. My parents were both college athletes. My grandpa ran track at the University of Texas. My great grandpa was an MLB player for the LA Dodgers. So I definitely couldn’t pick one.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
Riley: One sport that I don’t already play that I would play is by far football. I love watching football and talking about it. It seems so fun to tackle people and run through people.

VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?
Riley: I don’t have an exact go-to pregame song but I do have a go to playlist. The entire playlist is worship music. It just calms me and reminds me to play for God.
